The Role
You'll be the design brain of 8club — responsible for the end-to-end user experience of a product where the stakes are people's social lives. From the first invite screen to the memory they share the next morning, every pixel passes through you.
Why This Role Matters
Going out is a deeply emotional experience. The product has to earn trust, build anticipation, and deliver joy — all through design. This is not a UX formality role. It is a taste-defining role.
What You'll Do
Own the end-to-end design of 8club's core product surfaces: discovery, invitations, social feed, memories
Conduct user research and usability testing; synthesise findings into design decisions
Maintain and evolve the 8club design system to ensure consistency across all surfaces
Work hand-in-hand with engineering to ensure designs are implemented faithfully and feasibly
Use data (heatmaps, session recordings, funnel analysis) to identify and fix UX friction
Contribute to the visual direction of the brand as expressed through product UI
Rapidly iterate on designs based on feedback — you're not precious about your work
What We're Looking For
4+ years of product design experience at a consumer-facing digital product
Strong portfolio showing both visual craft and UX reasoning
Expert-level Figma — design systems, auto layout, prototyping
You understand human psychology and design to delight and direct attention
Experience running user research independently — recruitment, interviews, synthesis
You've worked in fast-paced environments where designs ship weekly, not quarterly
Bonus Points
Experience designing for social or event discovery platforms
Motion design skills (Lottie, Principle, or After Effects)
Understanding of mobile-first design constraints (iOS & Android HIG)
AI & Tools We Use
Figma for all design work
Maze / Lyssna for usability testing
Hotjar / FullStory for session analysis
Uizard / Figma AI for rapid variant generation
