The Role
You’ll turn ideas into screens people love using. Working closely with our Senior Product Designer, product and engineering, you’ll take features from brief to shipped, sweat the details that make 8club feel alive, and grow fast in a team that ships every week.
Why This Role Matters
People decide in seconds whether a plan feels worth leaving the house for. The invite card, the RSVP tap, the photo dump the next morning: these small moments decide whether someone comes back. You’ll own those moments and make sure they’re well crafted.
What You’ll Do
Design features and flows end to end within defined product areas (for example: a new RSVP flow, event cards, memory sharing), from brief to final specs
Translate product requirements and research insights into wireframes, high-fidelity UI and interactive prototypes
Explore several directions for each problem and present them with clear reasoning for review
Design within the 8club design system: use components correctly, flag gaps, and propose new patterns when needed
Prepare clean, developer-ready handoffs, including edge cases, empty states, error states and responsive behaviour
QA builds with engineering before release and push for pixel-level accuracy
Support user research: run usability tests, take part in interviews, and help synthesise findings
Track how your shipped features perform and bring iterations back to the team
What We’re Looking For
2-4 years of product design experience, ideally on a consumer mobile app
A portfolio with shipped work that shows strong visual craft and clear thinking behind the decisions
Strong Figma skills: auto layout, components, variants and prototyping
Attention to detail in spacing, type, hierarchy and micro-interactions
Comfort taking feedback, iterating quickly and explaining your design choices
Curiosity about why people behave the way they do, and a desire to learn research hands-on
Bonus Points
Interest in, or experience with, social, community or events products
Motion and micro-interaction skills (Lottie, Rive, ProtoPie or After Effects)
Familiarity with iOS and Android design guidelines
