The host who turned his passion into a 10/10 career
It doesn’t matter if you’ve known Sai for two weeks or two decades, there are two things about him that you just can’t miss.
He loves music
He loves bringing people together.
His first DJed when he was 22. Or rather, a drunk friend handed him an iPad at a house party and told him to do “whatever” with the music. Hours later, Sai was still playing music and people were still dancing, refusing to leave the makeshift dance floor.
More than a decade later now, he spends most of his time on the other side of the turntable. He is the host putting the room together. Curating the right artists, the right audience, and making sure every detail is perfect. When you ask him, though, he will tell you he’s just recreating the first house party. Of course, the room is much bigger now. Instead of 30 people, he is now hosting 3000.
But at the end of the day, it’s the same thing. A room full of people having so much fun that they refuse to go home.

The house party made one thing clear: this wasn’t a one-time thing. He loved the experience so much, he knew he had to recreate it. So, soon enough, he hosted another gathering with a friend. Not another house party, no. They arranged an actual venue and 900 people showed up! Talk about a brag!
Soon enough, it became a regular thing. Queries about the next one would start dropping way before the current gig would wrap up.
“How did you turn your first gig into a success?”
“Two things: passion and a solid itch to network. First, the events wouldn’t have worked if what we were offering (music, in this case) wasn’t up to the mark. Second, we were good with people and we genuinely loved the idea of hosting. When you are that passionate, the rest starts falling into place.”

"It can be a lot of work to figure things out... every single detail. Is my creative designed well? Are people sharing it? The optics drain most of the hosts because they don’t have the right tools or support. When you’re hosting week after week, the real “make or break” is what kind of people you bring into the room. You can’t keep spending a shit ton of money on marketing to new people every time. You need a loyal community of people who show up for you, gig after gig.”
Say you have ~2000 followers on Instagram and you also use Meta ads to promote your event. You post a story, tag a few people, spend a few grand on ads and hope for the best. It is a gamble, really. A viral Instagram post isn’t a guaranteed

“Those 2000 followers on Insta will have less than 10% conversion in real life. But if you’ve got a hundred people on 8club, at least half of them will show up for your next thing. I like hosting bigger gigs, y’know? 500 people, 600 people. And I have my base solid. But if I want to flip the script and host a super exclusive, 100-people listening session, I don’t have to market anything. I already have the most loyal community on 8club. One tap, they all receive an invite and I know the room will be filled. I have all this data that I can use however I want.”

Fifteen years into the game, Sai's still adding to his hosting bucket list. What’s next? A boutique beach festival, or maybe a scenic mountain gig capped at 300. Or maybe another house party.
