How to make sure the right people find your Hotspot

What makes a Hotspot successful? Just a packed guest list or something more? Ask anyone who’s been hosting for a while and they will tell you. Half the fun is having the right people there. People who vibe with each other, with you, and with everything the Hotspot has to offer.
A Hotspot that everyone remembers? It’s where the crowd has all the right things in common. But how do you make it happen?

A right description goes a long way
A right description goes a long way
The details you fill in before your Hotspot even goes live - the name, the poster, the description, everything sets the tone. Nail this down and people will be requesting invites before you know it.
Information that matters
A music night at the club with just 30 people will hit different than a music night at an open-air concert. A brunch in your living room is not the same energy as a brunch at your local café. Make sure the audience knows what they are signing up for. That’s how the right ones find you.Straight to the point, no fluff
Sure, you are excited about your Hotspot. But the audience doesn’t need 5 paragraphs worth of details about what it’s going to be. So, avoid a long description and make sure you include the specifics. How big the guest list is going to be, what are the non-negotiables, etc.Bonus suggestion: Add a short section at the end. “This Hotspot is for you if….”. This Hotspot is for you if you enjoy jamming at the bar but don’t want to socialise with everyone. This Hotspot is for you if you are not a morning person, rather a morning-ish person. We start our runs at 8 AM.
A good, neat poster
Avoid cluttering your Hotspot poster with too many elements. It should attract people at a quick scan. The name of your Hotspot, the date, city location, and maybe one or two other details - that’s all your poster needs. Leave your ticket prices or “stag entry free” details for the description!

Try co-hosting
Not only does it make organising the Hotspot easy for you, it is also a great way to make sure what you are organising reaches more people.
Adding a co-host allows you to invite their entire network with a single tap.

Allow people to bring +1s
Allow people to bring +1s

When you’re setting a Hotspot live on 8club, you have the option of choosing the number of “+1s” your guests can bring. For example, say each guest can invite 2 people and you have managed to sell 10 tickets. That’s 10+20 = 30 guests on your list!
And don’t worry, if it’s a paid Hotspot, the +1s will still pay for a ticket before their spot is confirmed.

Make 8club connections
Make 8club connections
The 8club feed is where your city and future guest list lives. Be active there and share sneak peeks of what you are hosting. Let people see the face behind the experience. That builds trust and interest that no “marketing hack” can replicate for you.
The more you host and the more time you spend building genuine connections, the more people show up to your Hotspots. And once they come, you know they are bound to stay.

TL;DR
Life is best lived offline and there is a certain joy in creating that “best life” for yourself and others. Make sure you enjoy the process. Look at hosting as a way to add life to your calendar instead of just a “to-do list”. The rest will follow!
